Facade glass is a long-term decision: it shapes the building's look, the comfort of the people inside and the energy bill for years. In Jordan's climate, with strong summer sun and cold winter nights, the choice must balance safety, insulation and appearance.
1. Start with safety
On ground floors and where people pass, tempered or laminated glass is used. On upper floors, one of the facade panes is best laminated so fragments do not fall if it breaks.
2. Thermal insulation
Insulating glass greatly reduces heat transfer, and with a Low-E coating the performance is far better. Western and southern facades need this solution most.
3. Light control and shading
Frit printing with dots or lines of ceramic ink reduces sun glare and gives the facade its own character; it can also hide slabs and columns behind the glass.
4. Appearance and colour
Always ask for a glass sample and view it in daylight, because the colour and reflection of glass change with coatings, viewing angle and lighting.
Questions to ask before ordering
- What is the facade's height and orientation?
- Is thermal or acoustic insulation needed, or both?
- Are there requirements from the engineer or authority?
- How will any panel be replaced in the future?
At our factory we make every panel from a shop drawing and store its data, so any future replacement is quick and matches the original.
